Bargain buys to get rid of condensation on windows in an instant without using a dehumidifier & pric
WITH the weather getting chillier and wetter, an increasing number of people will soon be looking for ways to prevent condensation on windows.
But it turns out there's no need to fork out on a dehumidifer, as there are plenty of other super easy and affordable ways to get rid of it in an instant.

From cat litter to sea salt, Fabulous takes a look at a range of other unique solutions on the market - and prices start from just £3.49.
1. Cat Litter
While cat litter is designed for the purpose of soaking up pet excretions, they're just as effective in absorbing moisture in the air.
Super easy to do, you simply need to fill a container with cat litter, which costs just £6 from Amazon, and then place it on your windowsill.
Within a couple of days, you'll soon see that the litter absorbs any excess moisture, along with any mildew or odours that may come with it.

It's worth noting that any cat litter will work, but clay and silica gel cat litters are known for having the most absorbent qualities.
2. Salt

Many of us have in in our kitchen cupboards and it can be bought for as little as £1.65, but according to homecare expert and archaeologist Barry Gray from The Tool Square, salt has another rather useful purpose.

"Salt has adsorption properties, which means that it can bind to moisture and prevent it from developing condensation," he says, speaking to Homes and Gardens.
"This is why salt is often used in the kitchen to stop water droplets from forming on dishes or silverware."

He went on to explain how the popular condiment helps to 'pull moisture out of the air, making rooms drier' and less damp.
'This can help to prevent mold growth and other harmful conditions in enclosed spaces like homes or offices,' the expert adds.
3. Condensation Drip Strip

Costing just £3.49 from Amazon, these easy-to-use condensation drip strips are a cheap and cheerful way to stop condensation and mould.
They're self-adhesive and work by absorbing moisture and condensation runs from windows .
According to the product description online, "each strip is 2 metres in length and is perfect for protecting window sills, walls and floors within the home."
And several shoppers have been delighted by the results, with one noting: "Great to use on caravan windows."
A second enthused: "Easy to stick to window frame as just cut to size. Fibres are quite sturdy so think it will be durable. All good so far."
Another added: "Does what it says on the box."
4. Moisture absorbers

Property expert Simon Boden from the online estate agent House Sales Direct previously spoke to Fabulous and explained that the first step to keeping damp at bay in your house is by reducing the excess moisture in the air, which can be achieved with the help of a dehumidifier.
But according to the property whizz, you haven't got to splash the cash...because he recommends the 'UniBond Aero 360 moisture absorber,' which can be bought for as little as £8.99 from Amazon.
"It's the ideal solution for both getting rid of excess moisture and eliminating bad odours whilst also contributing to establishing the perfect indoor climate that'll prevent the formation of condensation, mould and nasty smells," he says.
Delighted with the bargain buy, one shopper enthused: "I did see a difference in mould levels when living in a very old house, and the moisture that accumulated by the window. Don't put near your bed or when your refill runs out you'll get scared stiff wondering what that thump was as it drops."
Another praised: "This is my second one. I use for the spare rooms for damp/condensation and boy do they collect it.
"I have an electric dehumidifier but I’m reluctant to use every day because of running costs. Totally recommend Aero 360."

A third added: "Bought the larger version for the kitchen and it absorbed moisture really well, so decided to buy the compact version for the bathroom.
"You can clearly see how much moisture it has absorbed, and are easy to empty down the toilet."
