People are only just realising what JD Sports stands for and it's blowing their minds
WE ALL love a cheeky shopping trip to JD Sports, whether it's for trainers or a new tracksuit.
But have you ever wondered what the name actually stands for?

Well if you have wondered what the "JD" stands for, then you've come to the right place.
The popular sports shop was in fact named after the founders of the brand, John Wardle and David Makin, hence the name 'JD'.
The brand was established in 1981 with one store in the North of England, before the first London JD Sports opened on Oxford Street in 1989.
There are now 2,400 shops across the UK.

“The name ASOS is an acronym for ‘As Seen on Screen’,” the ReadTheFactz account wrote on Twitter.
In fact, when ASOS was found back in 2000, it was intended to be a place that TV and movie fans could turn to to find replicas of the outfits they'd seen on their screens.
Several years later, the company decided to go just by their acronym, as they began to sell other clothes as well.
After learning the origin of ASOS' name, fashion fans took to social media to express their shock over the discovery.
"Never knew ASOS stands for ‘As Seen On Screen’. Why am I so behind on things?" one person wrote.
"I just learned ASOS means ‘As Seen on Screen’ and originally sold clothes seen on TV shows," another added.
As a third commented: "Do the kids know that ASOS is actually an acronym for As Seen on Screen?
"And it used to be entirely focused on stocking versions of clothes you’d seen in films or on popular shows."
The same reaction also came from people online when they discovered what H&M really stands for.
When H&M was first founded in Sweden in 1947 the shop only sold women's clothing.
Because of this, the shop was originally called Hennes, which is Swedish for "hers".
It wasn't until 1968 when the business took over a hunting shop called Mauritz Widforss and started selling menswear.
It was then that they decided to change the name to Hennes and Mauritz, or H&M for short.
Twitter users told of their shock after learning what the letters stand for.
